Power quality you
can prove.
Continuous EN 50160 monitoring, automatic reporting and smart alarming — delivered through the Elteq platform by 1AITE. We measure your power quality continuously, assess it against the standard and make sure you can show, at any moment, how it behaved.
Clean, stable voltage — or not.
Power Quality — the quality of your electricity supply — describes how stable and clean the voltage on your connection is. Stay within the limits of the European standard EN 50160 and your installations run reliably. Drift outside them and you risk disturbances, blown fuses, wear on equipment and needless grid-operator charges.
Ever more solar, battery storage, charging hubs and industrial processes make the grid busier and power quality more critical. The question customers ask is simple: is my power quality sound, and can I prove it? We measure it continuously, assess it against the standard and make sure you always have the answer to hand.
The EN 50160 parameters, continuously assessed.
The Elteq platform assesses power quality per connection continuously, following the EN 50160 methodology. These are the quantities we monitor.
| Parameter | What we assess | Indicative EN 50160 limit (LV) |
|---|---|---|
| Voltage level | 10-minute averages relative to nominal voltage (Un) | within ±10% (95% of the week) |
| Grid frequency | deviation from 50 Hz | within ±1% (most of the time) |
| Voltage THD | total harmonic distortion | ≤ 8% |
| Individual harmonics | contribution per harmonic order | per EN 50160 table |
| Voltage unbalance | difference between the phases | ≤ 2% |
| Flicker (Plt) | long-term flicker severity | ≤ 1 * |
| Voltage dips & swells | depth, duration and count | characterised + counted |
| Interruptions | short and long interruptions | logged |
* Flicker is assessed where the meter configuration supports it (IEC 61000-4-30 Class-S). The limits stated are indicative for low voltage; we configure the exact limits per connection based on voltage level and class.
From measurement to proof.
You don't have to run anything yourself. The measurement runs on the connection; the platform handles the assessment and reporting.
Measure
A professional power-quality analyser (IEC 61000-4-30, e.g. Janitza) on the connection supplies the measurement data. The platform is vendor-independent.
Assess
The Elteq platform tests the data continuously against the EN 50160 methodology and reaches a clear verdict per parameter.
Alarm
When something drifts out of bounds, a notification goes out automatically — in the portal and by email — so you can step in before anything breaks.
Report
A compliance report over any period you need, at any moment — and generated and emailed automatically on a fixed cadence.
Runs alongside your existing installation
PQ monitoring can run in "observe-only" mode: the platform watches and reports while your existing control system or EMS simply carries on. That gives you insight and provable compliance without replacing a thing.
A compliance report, whenever you need it.
At any moment you can produce an EN 50160 compliance report over the period you need — as a clear PDF, in your own branding.
Standard report
The verdict, per-parameter pass/fail, the data coverage and an annex for reactive power and current.
Extended report
A detailed report with deeper measurement detail per parameter, for anyone who wants to see the evidence right down to the bottom.
Weekly compliance report
Generated automatically and emailed to your technical contact — you never have to ask for it.
Scheduled reporting
Reports on a fixed cadence — daily, weekly or monthly — generated and sent automatically.
A warning before anything breaks.
Our alarming reports deviations automatically — in the portal and by email — so you head off unplanned downtime.
Reactive current & overload
A notification when reactive current approaches a large share of the fuse rating — before the fuse blows.
Outage & frozen meter
Detects when a meter stops delivering fresh data or "freezes", so you never get a blind spot in your monitoring.
Over- & undervoltage
Immediate signalling the moment voltage moves outside the limits of the standard.
Frequency out of range
A notification when the grid frequency falls outside the permitted range.
For everyone who has to prove power quality.
Solar & battery parks
Keep a grip on power quality around inverters and storage, and demonstrate compliance in connection discussions.
Charging hubs & EV
Monitor voltage quality under heavy, fluctuating charging profiles.
Industry & utilities
Monitor contracted transport capacity and power factor, and avoid overshoot charges.
Installers & O&M
Give your customers provable power quality — without them having to run any software themselves.
Example from one active location — a 500 kW battery peak-shaving installation on a public location, where the platform observes not just power quality but also the battery and the grid meter.
