Why monitoring?

A solar park fails silently.

An inverter that drops out, you notice. A string running ten percent behind, you don't — it quietly costs you yield for months, hidden inside the average. Without sight of inverter and string level you only see the total, and the difference between "a cloudy week" and "a faulty string" disappears into the same graph.

The Elteq platform reads the telemetry your installation already produces, normalises it into a single data model and tests the yield against measured irradiance. At onboarding we import the full source history where it exists — our deepest example goes back ten years — so you have context from day one, not an empty dashboard.

Vendor-independent

Your inverters already talk to us.

No software of your own to run: the platform reads the channels your installation already has — vendor exports, cloud APIs or an on-site gateway — and brings everything together in a single view.

Five inverter brands

SMA (including Sunny Central), Sungrow, Huawei, SolarEdge and GoodWe — as supported integrations, each read out via its own data route.

Down to string level

Always per inverter, per phase. Per MPPT and per string where the inverter platform exposes it — with Sungrow, for instance, up to 24 strings per inverter.

History on board

At onboarding the full source history is imported where it is available, and kept at full resolution from then on — nothing is averaged away.

Measured irradiance

On-site pyranometers (Kipp & Zonen) and environmental sensors deliver in-plane irradiance, module temperature and wind — the foundation under an honest performance ratio.

Performance, honestly measured

Performance ratio to the IEC 61724 method.

A performance ratio is only worth something if the measurement is honest. That is why the platform computes the PR following the IEC 61724 method, only over days on which energy and irradiance are both reliably present, energy-weighted across the period. The irradiance reference is chosen per site — an own pyranometer where there is one, otherwise modelled irradiance or station data — and the source used is named on every report.

Alongside that, the platform computes expected power live — installed capacity × current irradiance × the park's own recent efficiency — and it guards availability per site and per inverter. No black box: the detection is deterministic physics and statistics, calibrated on real fleet data. No AI marketing.

Smart alarming

Alarms that tell cloud cover from a genuine fault.

Sun-position-aware and stripped of false alerts: at night nothing alarms, and a cloudy day never puts a single inverter in the dock.

Fault codes in plain language

More than a hundred vendor fault codes translated into understandable messages — "insulation fault" instead of a bare error number.

Zero production & laggards

Zero production while the sun is up, underperformance against the weather-modelled expectation, and per-inverter outage set against its siblings in the same park.

Data quality guarded

Site offline, frozen readings, partial outage, counter resets after inverter swaps — the platform knows each brand's delivery lag and alarms on it, not beside it.

Visible everywhere

In the portal (per site and in the fleet-wide alarm centre), by email to your technical contacts, in a daily digest and written automatically into the site logbook.

Your as-built drawing, with live data on top.

The interactive string-plan viewer puts your real layout underneath the data: a zoomable as-built drawing — in 2D and 3D — with clickable strings and inverters, and layered on top live alarms, string health and performance ratio. Dead or lagging strings light up against the median of their siblings, judged in daylight only.

Reports you can forward as they are.

Branded PDFs from the same reporting engine as our EN 50160 reports — on demand, or automatically daily, weekly or monthly by email.

Production overview

Period KPIs, daily and monthly production, the PR spread per inverter, availability and an honest data-quality section.

PR compliance report

The measured performance ratio tested against the site's contractual minimum, with a clear complies / does-not-comply verdict, the margin and the coverage — made for PR guarantee contracts.

Alarms and resolution times, maintenance, warranties and inspections — the operational dossier of the site in a single document.

The chronological site logbook — fed automatically by the platform, added to by your team — as a shareable overview.

Runs alongside what is already there

Observe-only is our most used mode: the platform reads along, analyses, alarms and reports next to the existing logger, the vendor portal or your current EMS — without touching a thing. Switching over is watching along, not rebuilding.

Measure — and steer where wanted

From insight to control, step by step.

Monitoring runs in production across all our fleets. Control we roll out deliberately in phases: every rule first runs in shadow — it computes along but does not intervene — then comes a commissioning run with an acceptance report, and only then is it activated per site. Always with an emergency stop the platform can pull.

Per-inverter power limiting is field-verified (GoodWe), including an automatic check that a command actually took effect. And on parks capped by an existing controller, the platform recognises and explains that limiting purely from the data — measure and explain first, steer when you are ready.

A 1 MWp roof seemed to deliver too little. The platform showed why: deliberate zero export by the site's own controller — demonstrated, purely from the data.
